I found this out by heading back to the same spot and noticing that there were some wolves nearby, so i watched as one of them approached my character from a spot safe from where i thought the crash was. The crash is happening not because of any timer or location, it's because i went close to wolves. So after learning a lot of new information in regards to my crash nearby riverwood, i've reached a discovery.
